What Lies Ahead For The Fireplace’s Future?

Since the medieval times, fireplaces have been a part of every household and have continued to be of great service even to this day. We all have our share of memories with our fireplaces and they have been a part of our lives. Whenever we need comfort and warmness, we go and light our fireplace to keep us warm for the entire night. Every family has their own tradition and their fireplace has been a part of it. But time has changed dramatically, and man has rewritten some of the traditions that made us what we are today.

Every year, there are new designs and new creations emerging from man’s brilliance. They have created fabulous and creative things that made our lives easier. We saw the emergence of high tech machines which have been very popular especially to the younger generation. These inventions have also made our world smaller compared to the days when one needs a huge ship to see what’s on the other side of the world. ... to live easier and comfortable. For example, man created electric heaters because they don’t want to chop and burn wood every time they want to light their fireplace. Man will only have to switch the object on or off thus saving them a lot of time.

Like most objects that had experienced upgrades and became modernized, the fireplace will become an obsolete thing that we may no longer need in the future. There will be a time where man would rely upon everything on modern machines that they no longer need those old or obsolete things such as the fireplace. That’s an inevitable fact that we all have to admit. But I still do believe that the fireplace will continue to exist and serve its part on our world even when the time comes when robots and genetic engineering becomes a household name.

You may ask why and the answer is actually really simple. I believe that the fireplace is only one of the very few objects around the world that has existed more than a thousand years already and yet functions the way it was meant to be. As people continue to rely on electricity, there will be times when they wished to have a fireplace on their side instead of electric heaters. How can they use something electrical if there’s no electricity?

After a couple of hundred years or so, I believe that fireplaces will still have its place in the world. People will learn to appreciate the fireplace and how valuable it is in the long run. The fireplace will co-exist with the latest technology and will function more effectively than before. Yes, we live in a new world where technology rules but in the end, people will somehow call upon their very old but truly efficient fireplace to give the warmth and easiness they longed to have.
