Physician recruitment is a challenge. Across the board, hospitals, government facilities, recruiting agencies no one is immune from the difficulty involved. There are however some actions that can make the process a more pleasant experience. Here are a few suggestions to get started.

• Step 1: Formulate a recruiting plan. This will allow the recruiting team to establish objectives to focus on in the process. A written job description can give definition to the requirements, credentials and experience you desire. A financial arrangement should be designed to initiate the discussion for negotiation.

• Step 2: Research your obstacles. Prior to beginning a search you should establish an approach for the specific actions. For example, if you are using job boards, which ones are best to use with this particular physician specialty? If you are using agencies, are their some that are stronger in the specific specialty? Once you have clarified your actions the course is now established.

by asking the pertinent questions, explain the hiring process and the required paperwork.
