Working on SQL Server, users often come across instances where their important data in MDF databases become inaccessible. In a typical workplace scenario, user is bound to come across instances of ‘False Positive’ at a time when a user runs DBCC CHECKDB statement for checking the database consistency. In most of the situations the corruption issue is result of inconsistency of MDF files. Therefore, the database inconsistency in these MDF databases result in further issues like database corruption, missing database objects etc.

In all these cases, the database that the user is using might become inaccessible or unusable, due to which user gets bound to face severe data loss issues. Data inaccessibility in this situation prompts the user of SQL Server to switch to impeccable SQL database repair tool to perform flawless MDF database recovery and resolve the issue of corruption as soon as possible.

Consider a workplace real life situation where you try checking you MDF database file by using the DBCC CHECKDB statement on the SQL Server. The application reports certain inconsistency issue of database tablets. ...
... On the contrary, if you run DBCC CHECKTABLE state to perform SQL Database repair, perform MDF recovery and resolve inconsistency issues. This way you will not come across any such errors. However, you might just come across a false positive situation, where you come across any of the following error messages:

“DBCC CHECKDB is performing an exhaustive search of indexes for possible inconsistencies.”

Or

“SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of I/O requests taking longer than 15 seconds to complete on file in database.”

After the occurrence of these error messages, when you check the Application Event Log of your MS SQL Server, then you might come across the following entries:

Msg 8978, Sev 16, State 1, Line 1: Table error: Object ID 1789795471, index ID 1, partition ID 72057602467495936, alloc unit ID 72057602585395200 (type In-row data). Page (1:2387522) is missing a reference from previous page (1:2387521). Possible chain linkage problem. [SQLSTATE 42000]

Msg 8958, Sev 16, State 1, Line 1: repair_allow_data_loss is the minimum repair level for the errors found by DBCC CHECKDB . [SQLSTATE 01000]

All these issues and happenings mentioned above arise due to issues of inconsistencies or corruption occurred in MDF database file. Corruption in MDF databases might also occur due to unexpected system shutdown, virus infection, abrupt Server shutdown, application failure, faulty hardware etc. You can perform SQL database recovery and bring your corrupt or inaccessible database in working and accessible state by restoring the data from a recently updated valid backup file.

After restoring the SQL Database, run database defragmentation and that will cure the damage caused due to occurrence of the above error messages. However, if the required database backup file is not available then the best option is to perform SQL database repair with the help of a third party SQL database repair software i.e. Kernel for SQL Server. This SQL Database repair software is capable of performing flawless MDF recovery as it is designed to extract data from MDF files created using MS SQL Server 2005 and 2000.

The author of this article is a data recovery expert who is doing a lot of research in the field of SQL Database Repair. Use SQL Database Recovery software to regain access to affected, damaged or inaccessible MDF databases.
