An Exciting Start To My New Career

It's been yet another one of those kinds of fun days. I was skipping around, a strange thing for me, but yes, skipping along and a drain pipe snagged the heel of my shoe. Luckily I caught myself on a huge garbage bin and didn't fall completely to the ground. I was so relieved that I had a Payless Shoes coupon in my bag for times just like this. With broken shoes in hand, I headed to the store. A clerk was right there helping me out. What a relief and thank goodness for one thing going the way it should.

I was beginning a new job later this week and everything seemed to be falling apart all around me at the same time. The pencil of my eyeliner just totally snapped in half this morning. Obviously, it must have already been cracked or something because I don't put my makeup on with brute force.

After that, as I was rushing to get the trash out before the truck arrived, the bag broke apart. I had spilled trash all over the place. After I got the trash picked up I had to mop the floor because of all the goop from the trash. And of course I now had this broken shoe.

I was trying very hard to focus ...
... on the good things by this point. To try to lessen my stress, I was trying to laugh at all the weird stuff that was happening. I see myself as the leading actor in my own sitcom. Days like this one just seem to be right out of some type of skit.

This has to be a more opportune time for this to happen as compared to some other time, I suppose. It would have been a lot worse I guess if this had been my first day at the new work. Not only would I look silly, I'd have to leave work to buy some shoes. I'm definitely not wanting this type of day to be the first impression my coworkers get of me.

My day got better when I was able to buy two pairs of shoes, and not bankrupt my wallet. I got a pair of navy blue flats and also a pair of comfortable walking sneakers. Wearing more appropriate footwear for the activity I was doing is probably in order if I'm going to consider skipping again. No matter what else is happening, things are definitely not boring around me and my life.
