Know About Cctv Dome Camera
A CCTV Dome Camera is probably the most popular camera in the security market because of its unobtrusive, inconspicuous design, as well as in some cases the ability to mask the direction of where the lens is pointed. Dome cameras are easy to mount on a wall or from a ceiling. Typically all one needs to do is to unscrew the base, mount the base, make necessary focus/zoom/OSD adjustments, and screw on the dome cover. Although they are not as easy to point in some angles as Bullet cameras, several higher-end dome cameras are available in three-axis or even four-axis adjustable gimbals. Dome cameras are typically used for ceiling mounts only, unless a three-axis or four-axis gimbal is available.
CCTV Dome Cameras are available with a wide variety of attributes including infrared for night-vision purposes, weatherproof for outdoor installations, and vandal-proof for high-risk areas. Lens options are either fixed (no zoom) or Varifocal (adjustable zoom). Such attributes can also be combined with various auto-iris lens options. For example, one of our most popular type of Dome camera is a weatherproof vandal-proof Infrared ...

A CCTV Dome Camera is usually the design used for most Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) Cameras because the lens can be pointed in any direction within the dome, and the direction of the lens is usually masked from onlookers. What makes this feature even more desirable is that one can do all of this remotely from a computer or mobile phone, depending on the DVR being used. All of our DVRs include the ability to control a PTZ camera from the DVR or remotely. Our PTZ cameras are available in IP, Constant-Speed, High-Speed, HD-SDI, and Auto Motion-Tracking models.
Dome cameras are usually available in various colors, which benefit users so that the cameras are less noticeable when mounted.
In order to ensure the correct type of CCTV camera is selected for any video surveillance application, the following questions should be addressed:
• Will the camera be used indoors or outdoors?
• How much lighting will be available during daytime and night time?
• Will the camera be installed in a high-risk environment, or can it easily be reached by those who are being watched?
• What is the distance to the target, and how wide of an angle is the target area?
The answers to these questions will aid in determining the correct type of camera for a video surveillance system.
