Fight gloves are functional gloves which wrap the hands during a MMA competition. There are many diverse varieties in gloves used during boxing competitions, but the specialized gloves have thin layer of padding and a low weight. It has been found in research that the traditional boxing competitions which involved bare knuckle boxing reported more deaths in contrast to modern boxing, in which gloves are worn and new regulations are followed.

A boxing glove can be a fight glove, a MMA glove or a wrist wrap glove, but the main use of these gloves is to help protect the fighter's hand from injuries and to give stronger punches. These gloves can be of diverse types and are segregated on the basis of weight and style. The gloves can be hand wraps or speed gloves, where the hand wrap is used to save fists from damage, and speed gloves are made up of light vinyl or leather and they help to protect the hands of the fighter against scrapes.

You can even go for a bag glove which comes with heavy cushion support and protects the fingers against powerful focuses, and it is compulsory for boxers who are in the initial ...
... training phase practicing boxing on heavy bags. Bag gloves gives support to the wrists and they protect your hands against injuries, while the sparring gloves can be worn for both training or for a fight competition. There are two types of sparring gloves - one designed with individual finger openings - it is a conventional design, and the other design has one large padded area and finger loops.

Professional gloves are designed with small cushions and it can measure in the range of 4 to 10 ounces, while other gloves weigh up to 20 ounces. When the athlete goes for boxing competition, these gloves are laced and fixed on their hands. Recently, some of the innovative gloves approved in UK weighed 12 oz to 16 oz, and these new fight gloves are made up of leather.

A new mesh palm technology is also used for designing gloves which is finished with Velcro and has leather stitching. One of the famous broken knuckle kempo gloves is worn for wrist support in sports, such as grappling maneuvers (clinch fighting) and wrestling. There are additional new styles found in fight gloves such as palm gloves, bag gloves with jumbo size and hybrid designs, which use a combination of several different styles.
