Organic duvet covers are a very important for us because we cover ourselves with these at least 1/3 of our total life. USA, Australia, Europe, and few other countries of the world produce the raw materials of these covers known as cotton. Organic and inorganic or conventional, are two ongoing methods of cultivation of cotton throughout the world. If you do not use organic duvet covers, you will be likely start if you read the next paragraphs.

The method of production of 101 million bales of cotton in 2010 by USA is a major concern for people over the world. In 1992, 6 largest cotton producing states of USA produced 2.5 million tons of cotton and used 600,408 tons of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and other such chemicals. The amount will be more alarming if we consider the total amount applied by other cotton producing countries of the earth. Though, cotton is produced in only 2.4% cultivated lands, the use of chemicals sets on about 25%. Isn't it our liability to allow organic cotton to reduce the use and production of 25% pesticides?

About 90% of the pesticides used penetrate directly ...
... into the ground, air, and water, because plants can only use about 10% of it which is really alarming. It reveals that if we can produce cotton organically, we will be able to stop spreading 5.4 million tons chemicals into the air, water, and soil each year. In this case, we will be contributing to keeping soil productiveness, biodiversity, and reducing use of toxic materials. To do so, we should use organic duvet covers, and other such organic products.

The chemicals used in the conventional method remains in the cotton that is harmful for human and need to be cleaned before making any products. But this removal is completed by another chemical treatment with the assistance of some heavy metals and toxic astringents which contributes more chemicals into the cotton. If chemical is placed on or next to skin, it is absorbed through pores and ultimately mixed with blood. Now you may ponder what the chemicals will do with you if you are sleeping without organic duvet covers.

The most of the peasants of cotton producing countries follow a manual process, so they are directly exposed to the toxic materials. "More than a million people a year in developing world are stricken with mild to severe poisoning from exposure to pesticides on cotton" and this is the outcome of a recent study by a famous organization. At the end of day you have to decide whether you will sleep with a sweet dream covered in your organic duvet covers or absorb toxic substances throughout the night.
