The competition between car makers continues to heat up as time goes by. As a result, most of these vehicle manufacturers are looking for ways to develop almost all their models to meet the challenges brought about by the competition. As of the present, the rivalry has extended even on the sales of high performance cars that are included on the new car prices lists of each car maker. An example of this is one of the oldest rivalries between the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang.

These high performance cars are still competing with each other in terms of sales as evidenced by the increase of demands from younger car finders who are willing to purchase any of these models either on cash basis or by using some of the auto loans offered by specialized dealerships and lenders.

However, the most recent statistics revealed that the Chevy Camaro continues to widen its lead leaving the Ford Mustang on the second spot in terms of sales. Chevy’s Camaro has ...
... started to dominate the market for high performance cars last year and as of May this year the Camaro has outsold the Mustang by 33 percent.

The current lead by Camaro was quite obvious and this made car experts and observers to think of the possible reason why the Mustang lags behind. The lead continues to widen despite the fact that both of these ponies are offered in versions with almost similar high-performance V6 and V8 engines. Ford has actually released the Mustang Shelby GT500 to provide customers with a more powerful version but this was quite ineffective in bringing the Mustang the lead in terms of sales. Given this, Chevy would shortly bring out the Chevy Camaro ZL1 with about 550 horsepower capacity to match the Shelby GT500.

One of the most significant reasons that could explain why Camaro has outsold the Mustang was probably the amount of production that Ford’s Flat Rock Plant in Michigan is bringing out. This plant has been in partial operation since Mazda announced its pull-out from the facility. This condition affected the assembly of Ford Mustangs distributed all over the US bringing the model’s sales down.
