Deep links are like one-way inbound links, with one small, but very important difference. While backlinks usually lead to a website's homepage, deep links lead to a content page or some other inside page of a website. The reason deep links are so effective in SEO, is because an independent site has indicated to their audience, and consequentially signals search engines, that this particular website content is a resource; that it has worthwhile value. This also helps site conversion. The more a website's content is linked to from other reputable sites, the more visitors become customers. It is also a primary reason that adding unique, original content is so important. The more informative, useful content a website has, the more opportunity for deep links. Unique content also helps conversion because it decreases bounce rates, by offering visitors original, useful information.
