Toothache Causes And Home Remedies
Toothache is a common problem. When the core of a tooth or pulp gets inflamed, toothache occurs. The pulp bears nerve endings that are highly sensitive to pain. Toothache aggravates at night when one lies down and the blood pressure towards the head increases. Toothache also worsens in response to pressure, hot or cold stimuli. Toothache may radiate to ear, jaw or cheek. Toothache may be accompanied by symptoms like pain while chewing, swelling around tooth, swelling of jaw, hot or cold sensitivity, bleeding gums, redness along the tooth’s gum line, bad breath etc. Sometimes the pain originates else where and a referred pain occurs in the tooth. The causes of toothache may be listed as follows:
1. Dental cavity
2. Fractured tooth
3. Temporomandibular joint disorder
4. Dental infection
5. Periodontal disease or gum disease (due to thriving of bacteria)
6. Ear infection
7. Sinusitis
8. Heart problems
