Olive oil, a widely used ingredient in cooking, is an excellent natural remedy that can be used in many ways to treat acne scars. Every morning, gently massage your facial skin with olive oil or with a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice, using finger tips in a circular motion. Ice is considered as the best home remedy to treat the initial stages of acne scars. Rub an ice cube against the acne affected skin areas. This will not only reduce acne inflammation, but also will alleviate acne scars. Lemon juice is also widely used as one of the home remedies for acne scar. It does have antibacterial and exfoliating properties and therefore can thwart the occurrence of acne and minimize the acne scarring. After washing your face with warm water, apply lemon juice on your face with a cotton mop. Leave it for about fifteen minutes and then clean the face with warm water. If your skin is sensitive, do not forger to thin the lemon juice with a little amount of water.
The mixture of sandalwood and rosewater can also be used to improve the scars left by acne. Spread this on the affected areas and wash after sometime. Mix sandalwood and black gram and add rosewater to form a paste. Put this paste on your face overnight and rinse off next morning. Applying lavender oil twice a day is also an effective natural remedy for acne scarring. Another one among the home remedies for acne scars is egg white. Beat the whites of three eggs until they are light. Apply this mask on your face and let it to dry. There are various very effective home remedies of acne. However, it should be noted that most of these remedies will take some time to produce results.
