Historic flags have fascinating meaning, including flags that are displayed on behalf of world countries. One such flag in my opinion is the national flag of Zimbabwe. The flag-design features striking colors that make this flag stand in comparison to other international flags hoisted on flagpoles and such. The colors displayed are black, green, red, white and yellow.

This particular national banner shows seven bands that are layout horizontally and colored differently. The flag also features a red star (5-pointed) and a bird, referred to officially as the "Zimbabwe Bird."

The colors that have used for the countless flag designs that are put on display from all kinds of flagpoles usually have significant meaning. The color yellow on this particular national banner represents the abundance in minerals that are found in the country. Black represents the heritage of the native Africans of the country of Zimbabwe and white symbolizes peace, even though reports of late have described a less peaceful environment in the republic.

Zimbabwe is located in the southern part of Africa and land-locked between 2 substantial ...
... rivers, the Limpopo and Zambezi. South Africa is borders the republic to the south and Botswana borders the territory to the southwest. Other countries that border the republic are Zambia to the northwest and the country of Mozambique to the east. Interestingly, Zimbabwe's 3 official languages are English, Ndebele and Shona.

Zimbabwe has dealt with economical and political issues of all kinds during the last few years and decades. Also, land conflicts of all kinds, including the current leader's effort to redistribute land to the black people of Zimbabwe have led many white people relocating or leaving the country.

The current national flag has been used for display and such from flag poles and other objects, including buildings, for a little more than 30 years. The republic counts 3 military flags: the flag of the Zimbabwe National Army, the flag of the Air Force of Zimbabwe and the flag of the Zimbabwe Defense Forces. All three have been in use since the country became independent. The designs are considered unique, including the use of color and placement or layout of elements. Also, two political flags have been in existence belonging to the Zanu PF part and the MDC party.
