My Path To Discovering My True Love

After deciding to get married my, now ex, fiancé and I were going to fly to Spain for an amazing honeymoon. The Gothic design of Spain and the people of the land had really influenced my desire to be able to go. Don't forget the fact that I made about him being an ex. He decided to put things off six months before we were going to get married. To this day we are still friends even though it took quite a bit of time before my heart healed. My parents were going to give him and I a pretty decent amount of money for a wedding gift. Instead Mom and Dad decided to give it to me. When they gave me the money they also gave me thrifty car rental coupons. For some notion, Mom just smiled at me as she gazed into my eyes.

There was a package trip that included Barcelona and Madrid. Mom and I decided I should still go explore the places I had always envisioned. At first I had a little bit of hesitation considering I was still getting over from the breakup, but then I started getting excited about the trip. ... had been wanting to see all of the wonderful architecture that these cities kept. I couldn't wait to get a opportunity to visit the Gothic Cathedral, the most famous of them all.

Along with all of the sketches that I was able to make while there, I also was able to take a cooking lesson. Everyone in the class found out how to create the popular Spanish paella. We had a fun time with the class by turning the whole event into a contest to see who was the better cook. I don'twant to brag, but I won the contest. With my new award, I could back up the old saying that artists make really greatchefs.

There were a couple times during the trip that I would stop and pause and think about my ex, it was odd to think that he could have possibly been with me. That's when I would stop doing whatever I was doing and take a minute to look around and breathe in all of the wonder and beauty I was surrounded by. In a way I was happy that I was able to focus my attention completely on everything that I wanted out of this vacation.

The whole time I really did a lot of soul-searching and truly discovered the essence of what it means for me to be an artist. Learning out what path I wanted to take my art, was something I had been wrestling with, but now with my new outlook I had a clear vision of where it should go. Actually being able to physically be in the place that inspires me changed my life.
