For most of us writers, the ultimate goal could very well be getting our own material or books published and hope that someday we will be known for what we had written once. But then again we need to realise that this is not the 18th century where very few people actually took up writing as a career. They didn’t have much competition to deal with and they were in demand too, as knowledge in any given field was not as easily accessible as it is today. No offence to any great writers in the past, but do you really think if George Bernard Shaw were alive today, he’d be famous by just bogging? I don’t think so too.

Writers today, have to deal with lots of issues, and I’m not yet going on about the publisher’s office. In this competitive age, we need to have a profile of being a prolific writer who can write on any given topic and that too without compromising on quality. It’s also true that we need to know who our target audience is, and what kind of people will read a particular kind of article. These are things which are not necessarily taught in high school, we need to acquire these skills over time with practice ...
... and thus gain experience.

So here is my suggestion to all budding writers, bogglers and thinkers who want their views to be read and read out loud. Get hold of a platform which lets you write and write a lot, on any topic, on any issue and also provides you with contacts of the people who know who your audience is. I would suggest starting with an article directory. It fulfils all the above criteria, and also gives you, the writer, and regular updates on what’s being required and by whom. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the more the people know who you are and what you’re all about, the better the chances of your next piece of work getting recognition among them. An article directory also allows uploading these articles for free, and knowing how much we writers make in the beginning, I think it’s a boon. Once you become well known among a certain group of obscure, yet well known people, believe me there’s no looking back.
