Having a beautiful garden isn't hard if you plan carefully and do a little bit now and again. With routine maintenance you can have a beautiful garden and lawn which you can enjoy throughout the summer months with your friends and family.

Gardening is a very beneficial and healthy activity, but sadly many people find it a chore. There is a saying that you never find a miserable gardener and it's true. The closer you get to nature the more health related benefits you get from it.

You can start planning your garden in the beginning of the year. Decide what flowers you want this year and where you want them. Hardy annual plants can handle a slight freeze which means you can sow them outside in spring. Half hardy annuals will die if exposed to the cold so it's best to sow them indoors at this time.

If you have a patio, cleaning it in early spring will really give your garden face lift. Using a jet wash is complete safe for children and pets and is quite good fun. You can clean walls, decking areas, sculptures and even outhouses like green houses and sheds.

Keeping your lawn healthy and ...
... looking good will take quite a bit of work. Out of all gardening tasks the lawn with need more care than the rest of the garden, especially if you have children or dogs. Cutting should be done regularly and feeding. Using fertiliser to feed and nourish your lawn is replacing the food required for the lawn. When you cut the grass you are cutting its food supply which is why you need to give it back.

Weeding is just the removal of unwanted plants. Some people like certain weeds and choose to keep them, but many weeds can over take your whole garden so pulling them up from the root at the earliest opportunity is recommended.

If the thought of this sounds like too much work and you would rather outsource it to a company then you can do just that. There are many lawn companies that will do all of these chores with all the latest technique to control weeds and make your lawn look like they do in the magazines. It needed cost a fortune either especially if you do a bit yourself.
