If you have a look around online you will come across various ways of generating free traffic to your webpage or blog. Everywhere you will see the letters SEO, which is short for Search Engine Optimization, and nearly every site will tell you that THIS is what you need in order to get traffic…

Now sure this is true to a certain extent, but truth is there are numerous ways to get free traffic to your site. Fact is just that most sites or internet Gurus refuse to share with you their secrets on how they actually generate thousands of visitors per day.

If it is free traffic that you're after, you would be pleased to know that there are numerous, very effective ways to do so. Some methods require more work than others, this much is true, but if I tell you that I know how to get you targeted traffic with much less effort as opposed to spending hours or even weeks getting your website search engine optimized, would you not listen?

... exchanges like the plague, sure they can work in some cases, I've used traffic exchange programs in the past and remember promises of getting 5000 visitors per day, a million a month or other ridiculous claims.

However, after joining nearly 30 traffic exchange sites, the most visits I got from them was just under 80 in about a weeks' time, after that the traffic stopped completely. The 2nd best traffic exchange site I've joined sent me about 34 visitors, 3rd best sent me 17 visits and the other 27 sites were all MUCH lower.

So let's say I got about 200 visits in total, surely I made a sale right? WRONG. Problem with traffic exchanges are that these are all people looking to make money, NOT looking to buy.

How traffic exchange programs work, is that you get an incredible amount of
emails, mine are all going directly to my spam box just so by the way so this means these free ads are of absolutely no use at all, and definitely not worth paying for.

Once you join a traffic exchange you will be sent spam email after spam email and get a certain amount of points if you click on the link and view the site for 20-40 seconds, the same goes for each person opening your link! These guys will close your page after receiving their points, bringing down your average time visitors stay on your site drastically if you actually manage to get 1000+ visitors, and this is NOT GOOD from an SEO viewpoint!

Well, the most effective way without a doubt is generating backlinks by posting on blogs and forums relative to your specific niche, however this can be VERY time-consuming. It's definitely worth the effort, but there are ways to do it much faster.

The other option is to use article directories such as this one, and if you can provide the reader with some useful info or tips relative to your niche they can be a great source of free traffic, however this can also be very time consuming of you do not have the proper tools and resources in order to save massive amounts of time.

And in the online business, time is money. Don't waste it by joining traffic exchanges, because those visitors are of extreme low quality and can do your page more harm than good.
