From the attire of the Gupta bride and groom to the decoration or wedding arrangements, all are done magnificently to mark the auspicious day. The matrimonial processes of Gupta’s are generally similar to the Hindu matrimonial practices. Small variations can be seen in some rituals, due to the influence of the place or the community they are living in. Everything is done with perfection added with the latest styles. Like all brides and grooms, the Gupta matrimony couple is also concerned about how they would be dressed up on their wedding day. To accomplish the same with perfection, many families also hire wedding planners to leave no stone unturned to add glitter to the occasion.
These days, brides and grooms are very particular about their wedding arrangements; therefore they locate a supervisor for every function. Same is the case with Gupta matrimony couple, where one family member is assigned for the management of one respective event of marriage. This anxiousness about marriage is very natural, as the day of marriage comes only once in life which needs to be celebrated in the best possible manner.
Significant number of Gupta matrimony can be seen happening in the northern part of the country. This is due to the concentration of Baniya or Gupta community in North India. Gupta’s generally fall into the group of Hindus or Punjabi Hindus and their matrimonies are also performed in the respective cultural manner. Irrespective of the traditions and the cultures followed in the Gupta Matrimony, one thing remains the same, which can be seen in all Indian marriages, is the blessings from the elders. It is a custom, without which any Indian marriage is incomplete. Blessings from the elders, gives strength to the newlywed couple to lead their married life together with all the positivity and cheerfulness.
