Sinusitis refers to irritation in the paranasal sinuses that is caused by bacteria, viral or fungal infection, allergy or due to the failure of the organism to recognize its own cells and as a consequence, the immune responds against its own cells and tissues. Sinusitis symptoms may be various like excessive sneezing, running nose, headache, respiratory infection, like cold, flu, hay fever, allergies, swelling on face, feeling of pain and pressure around the ahead. Sinus headache is the major concern and that can be problematic too.

A sinus headache is an excruciating pain on the forehead that covers eyes and nose area. The acute pressure and pain may get worse, when a person bends or lie down, thus, it restricts the general movement because of air filled cavities around the nose, eyes and cheeks. The headache usually progresses in one side of the head and it begins at the time, when you wake up in the morning and takes time to settle down. The one sided acute pain may lead to the problem of migraine, which is affected by nausea, vomiting and visual disturbances. Sinus headache starts ...
... when you are affected by cold or you feel pressure on one specific area. The headache is affected due to the rapid change in temperature like going into cold place from the warm room that worsen the pain. Sinus congestion and inflammation also lead to the headache. In addition, it does not allow the mucus to drain, it is blocked and becomes infectious that further leads to problem. Cold is the major factor that leads to sinusitis and it can be prevented when the mucus is properly drained out.

The best way of sinusitis treatment is to control the sinus inflammation that also helps in reducing headache. Apart from doctor’s prescriptions, there are natural remedies that can be used at home. The regular usage of steam may help the mucus to drain and, thus, you can breathe properly. Nasal spray can be used under doctor’s advice that prevents the disease. You can use saline nasal spray as it acts as decongestant. It can be made at home as well by mixing one tablespoon of salt with pint of warm water and put 2 to 3 drops of it, in each nostril. However, one should go for healthy diet that makes the immune system strong and herbs may help you to save you from cold and flu.
