Recently, a number of DSLR cameras with HD video quality have been introduced to consumers to diversify the market with expanded frame rates, manual control and focusing options. Although advancement in this market keeps growing, the SLR design factor is still unchanged to some extent. From a design perspective, DSLRs tend to be still photo cameras. Even though they offer amazing video quality and suitable for a large selection of optics, existing design factors are not less debilitating for specialist video shooters. As a result, high-quality, well-developed products such as DSLR rig and DSLR shoulder mount tripad plate have been made to satisfy the increasing demands of video professionals nowadays.

Zacuto is one of the companies offering the latest accessories which include the Z-Finder that can give processional experience with DSLRs with video enabled features. Schneider optics offers 3x magnifications to get important focus and composition. The Z-Finder comes ...
... with fine diopter settings that use a focusing knob that is tightly threaded. Once the diopter is set this will more or less stay in position, so accidental contact will not affect a shooter's capacity to rack focus.

The process to install this is quite simple, as you are only required to connect the mounting frame unto the DSLR with 3M adhesive. Next, the optical skirt can be attached to the mounting frame. After that, the diopter can be focused to the eye. The video DSLR currently comes with a professional viewfinder for real-time on and off snaps.

Zacuto provides a selection of modular DSLR rigs specifically made to satisfy the needs of those who are shooting videos. These called Gorrilla kits and can provide several contact points to enhance balance during hand-held shooting situations. There is also an ultra-compact rapid fire feature with optional Z-Finder. The rapid fire weights less than one pound and a half and is the lightest kits, but still the ideal choice for reporting in the field. A small gunstock pushes in to the chest or shoulder to enable users to hug the camera with ease. Even with its small size, this rapid fire kit offers good support for basic camera activities and walking shots. If you are a journalist, you will love the fact the unit can disassemble quickly in two equipments that you can easily carry in a camera bag.

Now, for those who are working as independent filmmakers and would require more accurate hand-held control, Tactical Shooter will be provided. Although its gunstock as well as vertical camera components for support will be similar to the Rapid Fire, if horizontal supporting rod and a vertical handle is added, this kit will absorb more shock to offer much more control.
