Wireless routers with N750 technology are powered by the latest wireless 802.11n standards with simultaneous dual band technology. The routers can support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands concurrently. The routers deliver the high speeds up to 450Mbps using three spatial data streams in 5GHz frequency bands. At the same time the routers deliver the high speeds up to 300Mbps in 2.4GHz band. These N750 routers double your bandwidth demands for up to 750Mbps (450+300) for both bands. Remember, in real world you will never reach these speeds due to many environmental factors, these are theoretical physical speeds.

Currently there are three most popular routers with N750 technology available in the market i.e. Linksys E4200, Netgear WNDR4000 and Belkin N750 DB. When you require building high performance wireless networks in large homes or in small offices, you should choose the wireless routers with N750 technology. These routers are ideal for streaming high definition video up to 1080p smoothly and are also ideal for fast responsive gaming. Which of the three routers is ideal to meet your need? Let’s have a look at the ...
... manufacturer’s specifications between the three.

High Speeds

Linksys E4200, Netgear WNDR4000 and Belkin N750 DB are all equipped with Gigabit Ethernet ports for their LAN (4xports) and WAN (1xport) interfaces. With Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports you can connect any computers with gigabit Ethernet ready to provide maximum data throughput. High speed Cat5e (enhanced) twisted cable must be used to support gigabit speed, do not use Cat5 twisted cable for gigabit speed.

With the Gigabit WAN port, you can connect high speed DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem to improve data rate transfer between the router and the modem eliminating the bottleneck. Even though the router support gigabit Ethernet WAN port and so does the modem, it doesn’t mean the performance of the internet connectivity will be improved. The performance of your broadband service plan takes the main important role in the performance of your internet experiences.

USB Port

Both Linksys E4200 and WNDR4000 include one USB port for shared storage. E4200 supports UPnP AV media server to let you stream multimedia files from the UB storage to your home theater devices including Blu-Ray player, XBOX console and HDTV.
WNDR4000 with Ready-Share technology allows you share USB storage with Macs and PCs and it’s a DLNA compliant to let you stream to any DLNA compliant devices including Blu-Ray players, HDTV and Game consoles.

Unlike E4200 and WNDR4000 which include one USB ports, the Belkin N750 DB includes two USB ports to let you share both storage and printer concurrently. Video Mover App allows you stream multimedia files from the attached storage to your home theater devices to let you watch them on your large HDTV screen. If you require a wireless network environment to let you “work and play”, Belkin N750 DB would be the ideal solution because you can host both shared storage and shared printer eliminating the wireless print-server to share the printer.

Guest network

All the three routers support Guest network access. Both Linksys E4200 and Belkin N750 DB support one guest network. While Netgear WNDR4000 supports one guest network each bands. With Guest network you can grant internet access to your guests when they visit your home with limited access rights. You can protect your local network resources from being accessed by your guests for security reasons.

Other Security Features

The three routers support any other security standards a router must support including NAT and SPI, wireless security encryption WPA/WPA2 and VPN pass-through (not VPN server natively). In additions, WNDR4000 includes “Live parental control” to help you protect your family from unsafe internet contents.

Linksys E4200, Netgear WNDR4000 and Belkin N750 DB are high performance routers to support your home theater environment. Belkin N750 DB includes 2 USB ports to support your home environment as the “work and play” environment.

All the three routers are high performance routers with maximum speed. You may also consider the best router for home and top 10 wireless routers. Ki Grinsing currently manages some blogs, he was graduated from ITS Surabaya with the additions of MCSE and CCNE certifications.
