Wine is a great way to compliment delicious food, social functions or even a simple outing. If you are and your friends are wine enthusiasts or even if you are just starting to get into wine, it’s important that you experience the many wonders that wineries have to offer. So before you plan a trip out to explore and tour some of your local wineries, be sure to read up on some the great tips and suggestions on visiting wineries and winery etiquette. Every week we’ll be posting a new blog with a few new tips and suggestions to help you during your experience.

1. Bring a cooler or Styrofoam wine carrier. As you go from winery to winery, you are going to start to think about buying bottles of wine. With a cooler or Styrofoam box, you can safely store your purchases while shielding them from light, heat and rattling. This will be a great investment during your visits.

2. Either hire a driver/car or have a designated driver. It’s more than likely that you and your friends are going to end up tasting more than you were originally expecting to. Plus, the wine tastings could catch up with fast if you ...
... aren’t used to drinking wine at an earlier hour. Some wine regions have their wineries spread out over quite a large distance, so a lot of driving might be expected. Regardless of the distances between them, simply don’t drink and drive. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

3. Start your winery tour early, especially on the weekends. One of the best parts of experiencing a winery is having a chance to chat with the people that work behind the bar and pour your wine tastings. You never know, you just might get a chance to talk to the actual owners or winemakers themselves.

If you ever have any other questions about the wines you are tasting or just wine in general, feel free to ask the Temecula wine tasting hosts of Ponte Winery. Ponte Winery is one of the finest Temecula wineries in Southern California.

As a fine Temecula winery, Ponte Winery can offer you and your friends and family an abundance of knowledge when it comes to wine, wine tasting, wine pairing and so much more. So the next time you are in the area, be sure to visit Ponte Winery to enjoy a relaxing day filled with mouthwatering wine.
