There are many different types of anti-acne solutions you can run across in drugstores, TV ads and online articles. They usually range from homemade remedies to prescription medications and the amount of things in-between is really huge. Acne is a rather common problem for teenagers and young adults, especially those who undergo serious hormonal changes, and it can seriously affect the social activity of a person because of the unpleasant looks associated with this condition. Acne breakouts are very discomforting especially when they take place in the facial area, so having an effective solution for this problem is very important.

There's certainly a wide selection of anti-acne solutions available on the market. Ranging from topical cremes and gels to prescription medications and special procedures performed by dermatologists and cosmetologists there's always something you can select and try to eliminate acne with. And many people always find specific solutions that suit them best. Still, in some cases when the acne is just too severe typical treatment options can be rather ineffective. This can have a depressing effect ...
... on the person trying to get rid of acne because seeing different solutions ineffective isn't the most inspiring thing when it comes to treatment. However, there's one final solution that can help you get rid of the most tricky forms of acne. It's called Accutane.

Accutane is a prescription medication that can only be used under doctor supervision. It is strongly recommended that you do not try to take the drug on your own because it's a very potent medication that can have serious side effects if used incorrectly. So if you've heard about the drug and already used other anti-acne solutions that didn't provide any suitable results you should definitely discuss the possibility of using this medication with your doctor.

Accutane works by reducing the amount of oil produced by the oil glands in the skin. Normally oil is required to moisten and protect the skin from mechanical damage. However, when there's too much oil produced it can clog the skin pores and cause inflammation. Many types of bacteria that dwell on our skin in normal amounts use oil as the source of energy. And when there's an abundance of it the bacteria tends to multiply in numbers causing bacterial infections. When bacterial infection and clogged pores combine this results in severe inflammation that take the shape of acne breakouts. So the most obvious solution is to eliminate the excess of oil in the skin in order to prevent inflammation in the first place. And that's exactly what Accutane is used for.

Ask your doctor whether you can use the drug and request a prescription if you really want to get rid of acne. This medication was confirmed to eliminate even the most severe forms of acne within a single or repeated course of use. The usual course lasts between 4 to 8 weeks and can be repeated after a couple of months to achieve better effects. So get your prescription and forget about acne once and for all!
