The New Forest, located in south west Hampshire in south England, is one of the most unique tourist destinations in England. This is because it consists of a National Park that has virtually been untouched for close to a thousand years. The New Forest is a beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and a wonderful one day visit, weekend and longer holiday destination. There is much to do and see in the New Forest. It is blessed with scenic views and natural wildlife, as well as historic villages and towns with so much to offer to visitors. Here are the top four things to do on your New Forest holiday.

1. Be amazed at a collection of over 250 automobiles and motorcycles at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. This museum is ideal for all ages and tells the story of the England’s motoring history to the present day. It includes famous vehicles such as Campbell’s famous Bluebird, the ‘Flying’ Ford Anglia featured in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and many more. The museum also has other exciting features such as the Motorsport Gallery, Wheels and Jack Tucker’s Garage.

There are several stables that offer hacks and rides into the forest for all levels of expertise. The Burley Villa School of Riding situated in New Milton is one of the best stables and offers indoor and outdoor rides with forest access. It has rides for beginners as well as experienced adults and children and even for the disabled.

3. If you are in the mood to view wildlife, then the New Forest Wildlife Park (formerly known as the New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park) near Ashurst is the place for you to visit. It covers 25 scenic acres of woodland and has a wonderful range of animals in natural surroundings. These include river otters, wolves, owls, badgers, foxes and deer.

4. The New Forest is famous for its gorgeous gardens which are ideal for those who prefer to take walks. Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway in Exbury is one of the many gardens that should be visited. The Exbury Gardens is a spectacular 200 acre site famous for its Rothschild Collection of colourful trees, plants and flowers.
