Toyota Expects To Return To Full Production By November
Toyota Motor Corporation was previously the largest auto maker in the US in terms of sales. This was because most Americans would prefer to purchase Toyota-made vehicles over other car makes since the company was able to produce reliable vehicles that almost every new car finder would love to own. In addition to this, Toyota dealerships offer a long list of better auto financing deals for potential buyers that could help them in handling their vehicle purchase. However, Toyota’s dominance in the US market as well as in other part of the globe has declined and this was due to the effect of the intensity 9 earthquake in Japan which eventually brought the company’s production down.
The earthquake affected most of the plants that supply some of the vital components used by Toyota in producing its vehicles which resulted to inventory shortages of Toyota-made vehicles. As a result, other car makers such as Hyundai and Kia were able to grab the market shares originally owned by Toyota and the latest statistics ...
... revealed the these two Korean-based car makers earned a lot of customers mostly car finders who are in search for cheaper yet very dependable vehicles.
Due to this statistics, Toyota has increased its effort in reviving its plants’ productions hoping that they would eventually retrieve the losses incurred for the month of May amounting to about 900,000 units. The company has started implementing policies that would allow its plants to return to normal and achieve its goal of restoring its production rate to about 90%. This effort is set to continue despite the fact that the company’s plants in Japan are still challenged by subsequent aftershocks.
With these plans, Toyota expects that its global operations would be back to its normal 90% production rate by November. Car experts and observers consider this to be quite feasible since Toyota’s plants in Japan that create almost 38% of its vehicles were able to produce cars in its most productive rate before the last week of May ends. As soon as these plants would continue its production pace, the other assembling plants are also expected to commence full-swing operations. Given this, Toyota might be able to take its lead over other rivals as early as November.
