Another essential major warning sign mentioned in the definition of alcoholism is that drinking to relieve or avoid withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, shakiness, sweating, nausea, insomnia, depression, fatigue, loss of appetite and headache is a major sign that you have a drinking issue. To conclude, although we all have work, marital and financial stress, blaming others for all your problems and refusing to discuss about your drinking problems are a clear sign that you have adopted a defensive attitude and you can no longer control your drinking. This aspect is also mentioned in the definition of alcoholism.
