Writing An Impressive Slogan
A slogan is a group of words usually a phrase that draws the attention of the viewer or reader towards the product or service offered by the company. The slogan is seen to be closely associated and used with the logo of the company, especially when an advertising campaign is being conducted.
Creating a stunning slogan is neither very easy nor very difficult. Some of the steps towards the creation of a stunning slogan are as follows.
The first step is about the logo. If you do not have a logo then get it created. The promotion of your brand is possible when the slogan goes in harmony with the logo. A logo is mandatory for the effectiveness of the slogan. If logo is the bread then the slogan is the butter. When you are in such a situation that the logo has not been created, it is better to get the slogan and the logo created simultaneously. The logo and slogan need to be perfectly integrated with each other.
The second step is about the time needed for completing the project. Haste is waste. The creation of a slogan has to be given some time. The crucial aspects that consume time are research about ...
... the company, brainstorming about the ideas, having a talk with the clients and finally editing. Each of these aspects may take at least an hour. The time allotted by you to the slogan writer and the time taken by him/her to finish the project needs to be justified and reasonable. In onetime payment you cannot expect the slogan writer to offer you services every time you go to him/her. This implies that you should maintain transparency and clearly mention to the writer what you want the slogan to convey. This will save the writer’s time as well as your time and also help to maintain professional relationship.
Maintaining the simplicity of the slogan is the third step. The slogan just has a few seconds to create an impact on the viewer. If the slogan wants to convey the message the message in the slogan has to be presented in the simplest way so that the viewer understands it as quickly as possible. The number of words should be minimized. Words that are difficult to understand should not be used especially the technical jargons.
The fourth step is about adding a bit of humor to the slogan if possible. It is obvious that you cannot make a joke a slogan but adding some funny words to the slogan can at times make it humorous.
The fifth and final step is about not including claims not justified and commitments that you cannot fulfill. When the slogan is based on the premises of unjustified claim and unfulfilled commitment it can wrought havoc to the impression or goodwill of the company.
