Restore Exchange Server To Access Emails Of User Mailbox Account
The EDB database files of Microsoft’s Exchange Server contain all the messages and emails of the user mailbox account. Users can access the items of this mailbox along with the emails from their local computer with the help of an email client like MS Outlook. This is however possible only when the EDB database is mounted on the Exchange Server and user account mailbox on both the Server and the Client are synchronized. In situations when the Exchange Server database is not mounted or the connection between the Server and the client is severed, emails and other messages cannot be accessed using an email client and it becomes essential to restore Exchange Server database.
Now, there are several components within an EDB database file. Every EDB file is associated with a user mailbox and some public folders having multiple data stores. The default mailbox store consists of two database files namely, Priv1.EDB and Priv1.stm. For users, Priv1.EDB file holds importance as it contains all the message headers, message text and standard attachments. In a similar manner, the Public Folder store also contains two database files, ...
... viz., Pub1.EDB and Pub1.stm, out of which Pub1.EDB contains the message headers, text and standard attachments. Whenever, EDB files gets corrupted or damaged, users are unable to access their emails and mailbox messages and are required to restore Exchange Server database.
There are several factors that could result in corruption of EDB database files like abnormal termination of MS Exchange Server, errors in mounting database on Exchange Server, header structure corruption, Mailbox deletion, Virus attack, EDB database unusable due to exceeding file size limit, CRC errors, JET errors and Exchange Server crash. Upon corruption, users come across the following error messages:
Corrupted header information
Deleted mail boxes
Unable to initialize Microsoft Exchange Information Store service
"JET_errRecordNotFound, the key was not found", "Jet_errRecordDeleted"
All types of Jet Engine Errors
Improper Exchange Server shutdowns
Duplicate Keys (Identifiers)
Error -528 initializing the Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store database
614. All future database updates will be rejected. Information Store (3420) Unable to rollback operation #65678740 on database C:\EXCHSRVR\mdbdata\priv1.EDB
In order to resolve these errors and restore Exchange Server database, users must use tools like Kernel Recovery for Exchange Server. Built on powerful algorithms, this tool is highly effective in repairing corrupt EDB database files and recovers the contents of the user mailbox account. In order to recover the mailbox items and emails of the user account, this software converts the EDB files into PST file format. Once converted to PST format, emails and other messages can be accessed through MS Outlook email client. Furthermore, this tool also enables system administrators to rebuild the Exchange Server database and mount it on the Server. For recovering the contents of the EDB files, this software does not require a running Exchange database.
Using three advanced data recovery modes, this software can effectively repair the Priv1.EDB and Pub1.EDB database files. The three modes, namely, Automatic Analyze and Recover Mode, Advance Scan Mode and Rebuild Corrupted Database Mode aids in repairing the damaged EDB files and converting user mailbox into PST file format for direct access. Users cannot only convert the EDB files into PST format but also retain the internal structure and properties of the emails, contacts, distribution lists, drafts and other items of the mailbox. Thus, Kernel Recovery for Exchange Server proves to be an efficient tool to restore Exchange Server database.
