Head pins, one kind of jewelry findings, are very necessary for making hanging jewelry pieces. It is not hard to image that most people have head about them, but not familiar with them.

Head pins are long and short wires which have a cap at one end. These pins are the major component in jewelry making. Jewelry makers use them to stop beads falling from the end. These pins come in various sizes, colors, and made up of different metals like sterling silver, gold, brass, iron and some others.

It is easy to find that most of earrings are hanging style, and most bracelets and necklaces have hanging charms on them. That is to say, head pins are widely used in jewelry making. A jewelry maker from Australia said:" Those head pins work great for earrings; easy to use and shape. They have different lengths, and different lengths have different usages. If you like dangling earrings, get the 3 inches pins. I usually get my pins from PandaHall.com which can offer me all kinds of pins I desired. They have good quality, but at low prices." Ada Smith, a jewelry maker from USA, said:" I a jewelry maker, I think. I regard making ...
... jewelry as my hobbit-a cheap hobbit, for I have found a low price wholesaler. PandaHall.com is the one. One of my friends recommended it to me. I like hanging jewelry, so I need a lot of head pins, and I purchased them from PandaHall. Nice products. I used them for hanging earrings, hanging charms on necklaces and bracelets. Well, to the beginner of jewelry makers, they may are not experienced in using them to create fashion hanging jewelry pieces. Now we make jewelry with the help of head pins in the following steps:
1. Always select the pin long enough to allow for the stack of the beads and little longer for the loop.
2. Thread some beads on the pin. Some beads need the holes to fit to the pin.
3. Use the wire cutter to cut off the excess head pin and leave the material about half inch left the pin.
4. Use the tip of the round nose pliers and bend the top head pin material about 90 degrees.
5. Use the thicker part of the round nose to grasp the end pin near the top bead and roll the head pin into a loop. We have to finish the loop using the fine tip of the pliers.
6. Now we will attach the formed loop to the earring loop or jump ring.
7. Repeat all these steps to make another earring.
