Repetitive motion injuries are the most common of all injuries in the United States. Every year the number of repetitive motion injuries increases as more and more people get involved with work that requires the same movements to be made over and over. This could be assembly line work, but increasingly this is work involving excessive computer use; which most jobs require. Avoiding these types of injuries is part of the study of ergonomics; which has proven that the right office chair is vital in staying healthy. This is even truer for big and tall people.

People who are larger in stature are more susceptible to repetitive motion injuries. Most often repetitive motion injuries can be placed into two categories; tendinitis and bursitis. People who are big and tall are more likely to deal with these issues, even without adding in repetitive motion. This is why it is even more important for big and tall people to have office equipment that is made for their bodies.

Tendinitis is simply inflammation in the tendons. A tendon is the part of the muscle that attaches to the bone. Tendons are what allow your body ...
... to bend and move. Most often people who have carpal tunnel syndrome or other pain in the wrists are dealing with a form of tendinitis. Carpal tunnel is the inflammation of the lubricating sheath where the tendon attaches to the muscle. This swelling can potentially put strain on the nerves which can cause numbness and other discomfort.

Larger people already have the potential for strain to be put on the nervous system. Often with weight gain or a larger stature there is medical concern for carpal tunnel or other inflammation to naturally occur. When you combine that with long term computer use or shotty office equipment you have a potential for serious issues for big and tall people.

Getting office equipment and specially a big and tall office chair that is made for a big and tall person you are going to setting yourself up for a healthier body. When you make sure that your office equipment works for you it will be easier to avoid getting carpal tunnel or other repetitive motion injuries. Luckily there are many companies that work only on office equipment for big and tall people. Using a company that has a focus is going to ensure that you get the highest quality for what you need.
