Web Designing – Over View Of Checklist

Every website owner wants the website to be perfect but from the designer’s perspective there are many hurdles towards perfecting the website. Some of the major constraints are meeting the time deadline and sticking to the standards that were decided when taking up the project.
Usually when the designer is running short of time, he/she will try to rush through the work. In this situation the chances of technical errors increase. It is also possible that small mistakes are neglected but neglecting a lot of small errors can adversely affect the quality of the web design. Finding of every single error and resolving it can become a cumbersome task for the designer.
Many a times the uncontrollable factors seem to dominate the situations and have a negative influence on the quality of the work. It is known that the root cause of any problem is deviation from the standards. Adherence to the standards and constant monitoring of the progress made can resolve most of the issues even before they take place.
One of the best ways to keep the problems at bay is through a checklist. First of all a checklist needs ...
... to be prepared. This needs to be in a written format. As every task mentioned in the checklist is covered it is tick marked. This assures that nothing is left out.
Contents of the checklist
Most of the tasks enlisted in the check list remain constant but some that vary depend on the type and purpose of the website. Column wise the checklist table should have columns for serial number, task, status, name of the person accountable, date of completing the task and the last column should be about any remarks that need to be mentioned.
The status column reveals whether the task has been successfully handled or not. The column beside this shows the name of the person who is responsible for completing that task. This person is accountable for the success as well as failure of this task. The date column shows the date on which this task was handled or completed. There can be two parts in this date column; date on which work was taken at hand and the date on which the work was completed. At times the remark column is also important.
Checklist stages
It should not be like that all of a sudden you realize that a checklist needs to be prepared and you start doing it just an hour before launching of the website. The purpose of compiling and maintaining the checklist is to keep the designer on course towards designing of a successful website not to make matters confused. One should first start preparing the check list when the project is taken at hand. There should be a provision to add task as the work progresses. The checklist needs to be maintained at every stage of web development process. This usually depends on the size of the project. Mostly the checklist is monitored weekly and a must at least 24 or 48 hours before the launching of the website.
Checklist helps to ensure that the quality standards are maintained and the work is completed on schedule.
