Monarch Lathes

Lathes are machining tools that rotate a workpiece on its axis for the purpose of sanding, cutting, knurling, drilling or deformation. This is done with tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object that has symmetry about an axis of rotation.
Lathes are used for a variety of jobs including metalworking, woodworking, metal spinning and glassworking. Functioning metalworking lathes may be used to produce most plane surfaces, solids of revolution and screw threads or helices. Objects like bowls, woodwind instruments, baseball bats, cue sticks and table legs can all be made on a lathe.
When looking for a lathe there are a few factors to consider: the maximum swing, speed control system, power of drive, vibration-free operation and sturdy rest tool and distance between tail shock and centers on head.
Engine lathes come with several features including a tailstock, a carriage, a stepped pulley and various spindle speeds and gears. These gears are used to power the carriage while it bolsters the cutting tools. Usually, engine lathes are used to cut and create metal pieces for use in an engine. It ...
... may also be used for creating shafts, making square blocks, and drilling. The drill process that takes place in the spindle is supported by the tailstock. Most lathes are self oiling at the front and back and the carriage is built to protect the machine from job remnants.
The power of your lathe is largely important. Your lathes power should be taken into consideration and should be efficient for the job you wish to perform. The higher the power and size of your lathe, the more expensive it can become. Higher end lathes come with a key frame and sophisticated speed system. Top of the line lathes have electronic speed controls. There are also some that use a lever or wheel to alter speed while the lathe is running.
Combination lathes can be combined with other machine tools like a vertical milling machine or a drill press.
The Monarch lathe offered by Machinery Values is horizontally shaped and is primarily used to turn metal manually. This engine lathe is capable of forming metal into specific shapes by using special cutting tools and turning the metal. The most notable aspect of the Monarch lathe is its accuracy. It will hold tolerances of 0.001 or better depending on your own measuring and machining abilities. It is also very smooth and provides a greater range of spindle speeds.
Machinery Values Monarch lathes are in superb condition and are reasonably priced. All of our lathes are available for immediate shipping. If you have any questions, or you would like to purchase a lathe, contact www.machineryvalues.com today!
