Dogs bark for the same reason human babies cry all the time. It is a sign of something bothering them –be it hunger, discomfort, a stranger, or they are just calling for attention. As such, it is a normal part of development and of being a dog. However, when barking becomes too much, it becomes annoying. Thus, it is advisable to use a barking collar if you are a dog owner. Dogtra offers cutting-edge barking collars that will give you solutions to your problem.

Commonly called anti-bark collar, barking collar basically has three types: the ultrasonic type, the spray type, and the shock type. The first type emits annoying sound that only dogs can hear every time it senses that a dog is about to bark. The spray type sprays chemicals, most commonly citronella and lemon, to disrupt a dog as it begins to bark. The last type, the shock type, produces an electric stimulation –a mild static shock –as it senses that the dog is about to bark. All these disruptive elements –chemicals, the sound and the shock –are harmless, although bothersome.

The shock type is said to be the most effective type of barking collar ...
... there is in the market. Some people are afraid that its means of punishing the dog may not be so humane, but studies have failed to show that it hurts the dog. Nonetheless, proofs of its effectiveness abound. As such, it is highly recommended for use. An example of this collar is the YS300 from Dogtra. It is a collar suitable for small to medium-sized dogs, weighing as light as 10 pounds. Its bigger version –the YS500 –is for bigger dogs. The two collars have the same major features, with only minor, insignificant differences.

Dogtra collars, such as the ones said above, are deemed “intelligent collars,” because of its “filtering microprocessor and sound recognition” system. This means that it filters out extraneous noises and only senses a dog’s bark. In short, it is highly specific. This is important especially in behavior modification. Imagine a dog getting punished even if it did not bark! It may attribute the punishment to another behavior and change that behavior as well. Thus, it is very important for a barking collar to be this intelligent.

Aside from its intelligence, there are other features that make this brand unique and different. For example, instead of delivering shock instantly like other collars, a Dogtra barking collar vibrates first as a warning that a shock is about to ensue. With this feature, the dog learns eventually that a vibration is an indication in itself to stop barking. As such, later on, when the dog has learned significantly already, punishment isn’t required anymore. The collar can be put in its lowest level of stimulation –level “P” –which vibrates only, to serve as a reminder that it should not bark.

A barking collar is needed by dog lovers for efficient controlling of their dogs’ barks. Although barking is a normal part of a dog, excessive barking is not. As such, the behavior should be rectified. With Dogtra, you can control your dog’s barking effectively and very humanely. It offers special features to make it friendlier to your dog, making it one of the brands preferred both by dogs and dog owners.

It is hard to come by an intelligent barking collar. However, at Dogtra, all collars are intelligent. As such, they are highly effective and one of a kind. Truly, you can never go wrong with this brand!
