Choosing The Right Scaffolding For Your Job
Scaffolding is designed to help painters, construction workers, and others by providing a safe and stable platform with workspace to accomplish their tasks. It is important the right style and size of scaffold is chosen to maintain the safety of the workers and successfully reach the goal of their project. The project manager needs to be fully aware of the safety issues involved in choosing the right scaffolding for sale and make sure all parts are available and meet safety standards.
Light, Medium and Heavy Duty Scaffolding
To choose the right scaffolding for sale, review the blueprints and work orders to determine what type of scaffolds are needed and where they should be placed during the project. All parts of the scaffolding must meet government and voluntary safety requirements and specified for light, medium or heavy duty work sites. Light duty scaffolds support workers and their small hand tools such as hammers, tool belts, and fasteners. Medium duty scaffolds are capable of holding workers, hand tools, and the weight of construction materials such as siding, shingles, or shutters as they are installed. ...
... Heavy duty scaffolding is needed to hold construction materials such as packs of shingles in reserve as well as the workers and their tools.
Special Features of Scaffolding Project
Unique site conditions and building structure features must be regarded to select the right type of scaffolding for a project. These conditions include the weight loads to be supported by the scaffold, fall protection, hoists for lifting materials to worksite, weather conditions and rescue equipment.
Fixed, Mobile or Hanging Scaffolding
Determine which type of scaffolds for sale is best for each project. Fixed scaffolding does not need support from the building to secure its platform. Mobile scaffolding is a freestanding structure mounted on wheels to allow movement from one part of a project to another. Hanging scaffolding is a platform suspended from the building and is raised and lowered as needed.
Scaffolds for sale may have a safety manual and instructions to help determine their rating and suitability for a project. If not, check online resources for information. It is good business practice to cut costs of construction, but not at the risk or using less than standard scaffolding or other subpar equipment. Determine the scaffolding meets safety standards. Remember: Safety first!
