Without a doubt, the HTC Desire became one of the most popular phones back in 2010 when it was launched. However, almost a year has passed since the arrival of this phone into the HTC line-up, which has called for refreshment in terms of features. It is exactly what the HTC Desire S will be providing a stable platform for HTC to build on their portfolio. It promises to add all the missed out features on the HTC Desire, which is expected to make the phone even better. Even though there might not be huge changes in terms of the design, the HTC Desire S is certainly unmistakable in the design cues.

It will offer a 3.7 inch display, which is the same size as the predecessor. In fact, most of the display department elements have not been touched at all by HTC since it will be very difficult to not any faults in the predecessor's configuration. However, the optical trackpad and the physical buttons just below the touch screen display have been eliminated in favour of the touch sensitive controls. Apart from adding an element of style to the phone, they are also expected to be much better than the physical buttons in terms of ...
... user-friendliness. Due to the presence of this large touch screen display, the need for the optical trackpad has all but been eliminated. The exact amount of internal memory offered by the HTC Desire S is not clear yet, but it does come with external memory card support.

Given that the memory card supported will be the micro-SD variety, it is not going to take long for one to find the perfect size as per their requirements. The HTC Desire S will be offering up to 32 GB support by this way, which would seem sufficient for most people. Even though the dual core processors have made a foray into the mobile phone industry, the HTC Desire S comes with the single core processor only. HTC has obviously decided that the usage of the dual core processor will not only increase the price of the phone, which would be disadvantageous in the face of the competition. The single core processor itself provides more than adequate power for running the Android 2.3 gingerbread operating system along with other major applications. Hence, there has not been too many changes with regard to the processor specifications.

The RAM, however, has been increased from 576 MB to 768 MB, which is obviously going to help in the performance of the phone. The RAM is as significant as the processor itself and by giving this increase in the RAM; HTC has done the right thing of providing the phone with better performance. The HTC Desire S will also be featuring a slight increase in the battery ratings. Now, the phone features a 1450 mAh battery instead of the 1400 mAh battery. The HTC Desire S will be available for around £ 26 per month in the UK on contract options.
