To most fervent shoppers, credit cards are a lifeline. Credit cards offer you the freedom and flexibility to buy now and pay later. A philosophy that is fast catching on with the youth of today, all over the world. The credit card is basically a piece of plastic that offers you the value of currency with additional freedom of purchase entitled to the user.

Credit cards have come a long way ever since being described by Edward Bellamy in his utopian novel looking backward. Most banks offer a whole range of credit cards with varying degree of usability accessibility.

Most banks have cards such as the regular card, the gold card, the titanium and the platinum card. The higher the card value, the more privileges are attached with the card with freebies and premium benefits.

Most regular credit cards are given free of charge to the holder i.e. there are no annual charges or fees attached to holding the cards. If a customer intends to go for a higher value credit card such as a titanium or a gold card, he might be levied a surcharge such as an annual fee of subscription.

Credit that has been charged for ...
... the card has to be paid within the due date. If the user continues paying his dues within the time, he has a great credit history that reflects in all his financial transactions with institutions. At times, thanks to a consistent bill payment track record, the bank promotes the user to a higher card value without the requirement of the surcharge.

On the other hand, interest is charged if the credit card bill is not paid within the due date.

The bill payment for credit cards can be done through online bank accounts or other modes as well.

So get yourself a credit card and explore the freedom that comes along!
