Water is one of the three most basic needs of all living beings. This is true for all living things on the face of the Earth to include even those who are underwater. Because of this, it is necessary to have proper pond aeration in order to make sure that all living things in the setup remain as alive as they should be.

There are different factors that play large roles in making sure that a pond, no matter how large it is, ends up successful in providing a home to different aquatic living creatures. Whether it is a completely manmade pond or a natural lake, it should be equipped with a system that involves the supply of oxygen.

This is an essential element in the whole working ecology of the pond. The health and well-being of every single living organism within the pond depends on this. This is also highly important for maintaining the cleanliness of the water.

The level of dissolved oxygen in the aqueous setting is important, but it can get lower than what is required for the pond. There are a number of reasons for such, but the most common is the large number of aquatic plants especially ...
... algae. Although having them is good since they release oxygen into the water, it should be at a moderate number since they also consume oxygen at night and on cloudy days.

In addition to algae overload, natural processes within the pond also affect the oxygen level in it. These include dead vegetation, runoff of fertilizer and fish waste. It is highly necessary to have oxygen in order to degrade the entire waste load.

Having a proper and effective pond aeration system is the ultimate solution. There are two simple types one can easily get ahold of. To know which one works for the specific pond, it is logical to know its depth. Basically, the surface aeration system works well with ponds that are less than 6 feet deep while the bottom based aeration is more appropriate for deeper ponds.

Although it is easy to determine and set up an aeration system for the professionals in the world of aquatic life maintenance, it is most recommended for those new in the field to have some assistance in determining and arranging the said system in the pond.

Pond aeration is a serious investment to boot considering the costs it entails. The long term benefits on the well-being of the aquatic pets, however, are enough to assure that the costs are definitely worth it.

Aeration of water in ponds adds oxygen to the water and helps release any noxious gases that might be in the water. Pond Aeration makes water more healthy and suitable for pond life. For more info visit http://www.hydra-aqua.com.
