These are fans fitted in hydroponic gardens to control temperature and odors. They are very useful in transferring stale air from the gardening area keeping it fresh and well supplied with air. Fans in a hydroponic garden help control 3 main factors, carbon dioxide levels, temperature and humidity. By use of a quality blower and the fan, the said factors can be kept in check at optimal levels required by the plants being grown.

The setup of the fan is usually the ceiling rather than the floor as this allows the fans to push warm air outside the controlled environment via a dryer hose. The other reason is that air rich in carbon dioxide maybe released by having cracks and vents near the floor. For easier control of the environment within the hydroponic garden, the fan can be controlled by either a timer or thermostat. With such a set up it becomes less of a hustle of having to do it yourself manually and you are assured that the plants are well taken care off.

The fans come in different shapes, sizes and capacity and the choice of product will be influenced by the size of your garden (and how you wish to control ...
... the environment within it). Fans are also measured in accordance to the amount of air they can move at any given minute.

Depending on the number of plants you have in your hydroponic green house, a temperature control unit is needed. This helps create a hands off system which requires minimum human input. This is because the more the plants the hotter the greenhouse will get therefore having a temperature control unit will aid in turning the fans and blowers on. It can also be set to open or close the air ducts.

In the last decade there has been a marked improvement when it comes to the available choice for hydroponic fans and environment control. Ranging from energy efficient to high powered fans for larger tents, there are options for every type of grower. Prices have also lowered with the expanding number of online retailers, meaning entry to DIY hydroponics is easier.
