Tested Skills And Suggested Practices
The skills that you need to successfully master the Planning and Implementing an security+ certification Active Directory Infrastructure objective domain on Exam 70-294: Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure include:
Plan a strategy for placement of global catalog servers.
Q Practice 1: Review several wide area network (WAN) topologies and consider the logon and authentication needs versus the traffic ramifications at each physical site in the WAN.
Practice 2: Using Microsoft Network Monitor or another manufacturer's network monitoring utilities in conjunction with Performance Monitor (Perfmon), analyze the traffic during the replication process between global catalog servers.
Q Practice 3: Implement a test net-work with two domains. Make certain that only one domain controller is a global catalog server. Take the global catalog server off the network. From a client station, attempt to log on the network into each domain. Bring the global catalog server back online and enable universal group membership ...
... caching on the other domain controllers. Take the global catalog server offline and attempt to log on the network from a client station again.
Plan a flexible operations master role placement.
Q Practice f: Design an imaginary a certification exam with multiple locations and multiple domains in a single forest. Select suitable placement for each of the operations masters.
Q Practice 2: Implement a test forest with multiple domain controllers. Transfer each operations role to a single domain controller and then remove that domain controller from the network. Using the administrative tools for Active Directory, attempt to create, move, and rename objects, and then attempt to modify the schema. Using a client computer, attempt to log on. Document the affect the "failed" operations master role as on the network.
Implement an Active Directory forest and domain structure.
Practice 1: Design an imaginary Active Directory forest with multiple domains. Consider which domain should be placed at the root of the forest. Document the domain trees.
Practice 2: Install a test network with Windows Server 2003. Using the forest plan from Practice 1, run Dcpromo.exe to install Active Directory to create a new forest with a root domain.
Practice 3: With the same network running from Practice 2, run Dcpromo.exe to install Active Directory on another server to create the first domain controller within a child domain.
Practice 4: Using the same net-work in the previous practices, raise the func-tional level of each domain to Windows Server 2003, then raise the functional level of the forest to Windows Server 2003.
Practice 5: Install two domain controllers in two separate ccna exam questions forest root domains. Raise the domain and forest functional levels to Windows Server 2003 for each domain and forest. Establish a forest trust between the two forests. Remove the forest trust and establish a one-way external trust between the two domains.
