In one examining long-term effects in more than 600 people with low-back pain, results indicate that chiropractic care involving spinal manipulation is at least as effective as conventional medical care for up to 18 months. Note also a recent review of 39 clinical trials by the US based Cochrane Collaboration organisation has suggests that whilst spinal manipulation therapy can assist back pain it is apparently no more effective than other available conventional treatments.
