How Patience Is A Trader’s Virtue

Our recent experiences and experiments with financial flavors did not turn out well at all with continuous debt issues and the debt relief options and debt care processes that followed; and the same robbed us off our patience and good humor big time. As a result the investors are prone to lose patience much earlier than they did before as they buy a stock and watch it slowly, very slowly, inch its way higher. Then one negative earnings report comes out or bad news hits the market, and all gains go away, disappearing in a matter of minutes. The feeling is like watching a balloon slowly inflate, then getting hit by a pin. However, patience is still necessary if one needs to go on with the investment procedures and has to wait for the good results to show up. Initially, you as an investor after having done with your homework and research and after identifying the entry point for a promising stock have to show patience by waiting in anticipation for the price to reach your entry point. Instead of pulling back, the price lunges upward. You panic, entering an order above your planned entry point in a rush to make sure you don't miss ...
... the trade. By doing this, you give up some of your potential profit, but, more importantly, you actually violate the rules that caused you to enter the trade in the first place. If you've ever let your emotions rule the day, you know that it can often lead to disappointing returns. In fact, impatient investors who violate their discipline may be headed down the path to ruin.
Also, it is important to remember that there are various other trading options in the market which provides you with a versatility and freedom to choose from them according to your financial needs and goals. Thus one has to practice patience in finalizing the best possible deal to fit his/her trading rules. Thus you need to wait patiently unless you come across the trading deal which will get you good entry points and will meet your desired criteria. If you find that you have lost control and entered a stock before its time, it is usually best to exit the trade and wait for it to develop based on your predefined rules and not on your emotions. Take the costs associated with the trade as a lesson, learn from it and move on. Patience also needs to be executed and implemented by investors who need to wait and give time to their investment position to develop and mature without panicking and being impulsive by taking a hasty and wrong decision that can lead to waste and loss. Exhibiting patience with a good trade setup is a difficult task. It requires confidence in your research and in your system. While no one is infallible, the best traders trust their discipline to make them successful. They do not waver from their trailing stop methodology by letting the trade play out. Patience also pays off well and helps the investor to decide whether or when to sell his position after it hits his trailing stop. Overall, patience is the strongest virtue that acts as a determining factor for your profitable trade transactions and decision making.
