In fact, you can even choose multiple disciplines and study them in tandem in order to forge a unique path for yourself. Some specialties of engineering mesh fantastically together and will leave you in a position of strength in the job market. There are tons of job opportunities, from the government to the private sector, from multinational corporations to small startups, and more, and all of them offer unique, exciting and cutting-edge careers.
Not only that, but engineers are handsomely rewarded for their hard work. In fact, they are amongst the highest paid workers, and also enjoy some fantastic starting salaries as well. Engineering salaries will be different in each individual field from the next, but all engineers are well paid and enjoy great compensation.
Individuals who enter the competitive field of petroleum engineering bring home a median salary of nearly $110,000 for example.
