Blast Surfaces Clean With Abrasion Cleaning
You may not have heard of abrasion blasting, the process of propelling sand granules onto a surface in order to smoothen it. If so, then this can act as an education to you on the subject.
Abrasion blasting, or sandblasting as it is more colloquially known, is a commonly used process to clean deeply and effectively. The sandblasting process involves propelling sand granules with a liquid or gas, along the lines of pressurised air, through a nozzle device, in order to accurate propel the granules. This makes the granules move at high speed, while retaining accuracy, and is extremely useful for brick cleaning in order to even a surface so it is ready to be painted or similar.
Process methods
The sandblasting process can take place in a range of ways, depending on the desired end result. The most common way in which it can take place is through a process called mobile blast cleaning, where a large area of surface can be blasted, through use of a mobile unit.
When using such mobile units, it is wise to take safety precautions, ...
... such as wearing protective gear in the form of goggles and gloves, so to remove the risk of injury. If you are using a wet blasting process, there is a lessened chance that you will experience an inhalation issue; however there is waste water present, sometimes in excessive quantities. In addition to this, it is advised that one uses silica sand rather than conventional sharp sand, so that the risk of injury is lessened.
Other options
The second main method of blast cleaning is called containment blasting. This process takes place in an enclosed area when the sand can be blasted at the surface and then recycled. This method removes the inherent dangers of mobile blasting, where the machine user can easily be injured, in addition to removing the environmental issues when using a mobile unit.
There is one final method available to you if neither of these solutions are suitable. This method is called vacuum blasting. It works in a very similar way to containment blasting, however, a vacuum is used to recover the materials that are being blasted, which results in the area being kept clean, and materials not being wasted.
It is common for a user to want to get the job done as quickly as possible, and so it can be extremely tempting to simply do the job without making any safety precautions before or during working. This is unwise as it can easily result in injury to the user. Due to this, it is advised that all health and safety precautions are adhered to prior to starting work, as well as during the working time.
