After visiting the optician for a series of short eye tests and finding out that you need help with your site like glasses, it is time to start thinking about what type of glasses are going to suit your face best. If it is the first time that you have had to wear glasses and you have been told by your optician that you will need to wear them a lot of the time, it is very important to find a set of frames that of only suit your face shape and colouring but that you also feel comfortable in. There are a few things to keep in mind when you are choosing your frames.

One of the most important aspects in finding frames to suit, particularly for women, is hair style. It is recommended that if you have a distinctive hair style or a bold colour that is part of you look, it is best to go for very neutral frames or even frame-less glasses so as not to distract from the hair or to cause too many clashes around the face. On the other hand, someone who has a very short haircut or tends to wear the hair pulled back from the face a lot can really rock a pair of bold, statement frames.

Complexion and colouring comes into the equation ...
... quite heavily as well. Bright colours and heavy frames are best suited to those with heavy eyebrows and darker complexions while lighter skin tones are better suited to wire and metallic framed glasses. For anyone struggling with choosing a colour for their frames, a good rule of thumb is to go for a shade that is close to their natural eye colour.

Another aspect to take into consideration is personality. Someone who is vibrant and confident could go for very bold frames in a bright colour while shy types would do better to chooser more inconspicuous frames. The key here is to to find frames that are comfortable and do not out shine the natural personality of someone.

The final point when choosing glasses frames after eye tests is to think about face shape compared with the shape of the frames and how well they balance on the face. Those with a very angular face should consider choosing something with a more rounded finish to give an overall softer look while rounder faces can really suite a very square frame.

These are, of course, only guide lines the most important thing about choosing frames for glasses is that the wearer feels comfortable in them. Potential glasses wearers though, can be safe in the knowledge that that there is a frame out there to suit them no matter what their face shape, colouring or hair style. There is no need to fore sake your eyesight in favour of vanity so even the most influential of fashionistas should not be put off having eye tests at the thought of having to wear glasses. Glasses are cool!
