Practically instantaneous weight loss is a common result of these diets, as you'll quickly lose water weight, though it takes at least a day before you'll start burning excess fat.

Intermittent fasting

This is another method of "dieting" that's becoming increasingly popular. Intermittent fasting is basically going for long periods of time (15-24 hours) without food, and then eating larger amounts of food after the fast is over.

For example, you might only eat once a day, in the morning or evening, but eats a large amount at your desired eating time. Diet gurus tell you not to eat carbs, not to eat fats, not to this or that, but they rarely emphasize the things you SHOULD be eating. This is a shame, since it's what you DO eat that has a major impact on your results at losing weight fast.

The most important nutrient in your diet is protein. Protein helps with losing weight fast by boosting your metabolism (your body requires a great deal of energy to digest it), giving you a steady supply of energy, and allowing you to build some lean tissue to further boost your metabolism.
