Banners And Flags - Republic Of Cape Verde
The national flag of Cape Verde has only been an official flag for some 25 years. On the very first day of the republic's independence, the Cap Verde flag was hoisted on flag poles of all kinds, including commercial flagpoles. This occurred on July 5th of 1975. The design of the flag very much resembles the national flag of neighboring country Guinea-Bissau, officially called the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
Portuguese explorers reached the Cape Verde Islands during the late years of the fifteenth century, as a result of an ongoing effort to explore the African territory. Following quite a number of centuries under colonial rule, the Cape Verde Islands became an independent republic on July 5, 1975, some 25 years ago.
Most national flags have very detailed specifics with regards to flag proportions and such. The flag of Cape Verde does not however. No specifications detailing the height and width of the flag are in existence. However, the dimensions that make up the complete flag are given proportionally with respect to the dimensions of the sides of the flag, which is 2:3. Both the 1975 and 1992 flags have the proportions. ...
... Also the color shades are also not specified.
Now, the very original flag was introduced back in '75. Some years later, in '92, a new flag was introduced. The original flag flew common African colors whereas the later flag was a little more independent. Their representation or meaning has remanded unchanged however. Both flags are said to be based on the so called PAIGC flag. The African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde is a political party that ruled Guinea-Bissau ever since 1974.
Cape Verde is an island country, or republic, and is located in the central Atlantic Ocean at some 300 plus miles of the coast of Africa. Like many other islands, this territory was formed as a result of volcanic activity. The landscape is considered relatively flat, very much sandy and surprisingly to some pretty dry. Even though the country's name might suggest that the respective islands are colored green as a result of an abundance of vegetation, the opposite is true however.
Both historical flags are a fitting representation of the republic and truly fly wonderfully from quality residential flagpoles of different kinds. International flags are manufactured using great care as well as the best in production technology in and outside of the United States.
Great offers on banners and flagpoles, flag pole parts and lots mote!
