Rani Mukerji- A Tremendous Performer

I still can remember the excitement when ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ was released way back when I was in the sixth standard or so. It was a privileged position for those few kids whose parents had been kind enough to allow them to tag along with them to the movie hall. Those few hogged all the attention in class by telling the story to the other kids in groups. And sadly I was always among those wide-eyed listeners oohhing and aahing as and when the story demanded!

So, anyway, when later I finally did get to see the movie (probably many years later!), I was thrilled by Kajol’s flawless performance of the naïve college girl, as for, Shahrukh Khan, he has always been magical to watch, but what struck me was the calmness and poise of Rani Mukerji. This superhit movie gave Rani Mukerji a huge exposure and she soon began to be signed up for plenty of movies. Within a few years, Rani became a leading actress with hits such as Saathiya, Hum Tum, Yuva, Veer-Zaara, Black and Paheli.

As I grew up, Rani’s position in the Bollywood film industry too simultaneously grew and she became the top actress from 2004 to 2007. ...

Fortunately, by then, I was finally old enough to be watching films with either cousins or friends and I remember watching plenty of Rani’s movies and being surprised again and again by her superb acting abilities. Though many are of the opinion that she delivered her ‘best performance’ in the role of the deaf and blind girl in Black, my personal favourite is, or lets say are, Hum Tum, Paheli and Saathiya.

I loved her acting, I loved her dancing, and indeed I also loved all the gossip involving her! I can’t remember the umpteen times Rani Mukerji’s marriage has been linked up with various names from Bollywood. In the past it was Abhishek Bachchan who dismissed all rumours by settling down with Aishwarya and now for quite some time, it has been heard that Rani is dating Aditya Chopra. Apparently both of them even attended this year’s holi bash at Shah Rukh’s place as a couple!
