Playa Del Carmen Villas – Lifestyle & Large-scale Tourism Investment

One reason why it's so attractive to buy a Playa del Carmen villa is the large amounts of tourism investment pumped into the area, offering a comfortable lifestyle at home and beyond. This factor is only getting better; 2011 is seeing the federal government invest over $300 million USD into major tourism projects.

Mexico's federal Ministry of Tourism announced that the total funds available for tourism infrastructure throughout Mexico from the federal government, the states and municipalities totals to 3.36 billion pesos (over $300 million USD). The number of new projects to be constructed totals 250.

How does this effect lifestyle for owners of villas in Playa del Carmen? As one of the country's leading tourist destinations, Playa del Carmen receives its fair share of these amounts, not to mention a good deal more international private investment.

Simply reviewing the projects completed or started over the past year or two, it's easy to see that this is the case. A ...
... new 6-lane by-pass road and a series of highway bridges offer buyers of villas in the city's newly developing north end (where a good selection of new villas and condos exist) to shopping and entertainment options downtown, at the south of the city, and the newly emerging civic and shopping area back from the beach, with direct access by means of the bypass.

These road projects mean that villa owners can live comfortably in a quiet gated community just out of town, and still enjoy short drives of 10 minutes or less to the city's major services and attractions.

Highway projects such as these also make it easier for new developments to appear, offering benefits such as professional golf courses; the area at the north end of the city is already central to Playa del Carmen's role as Latin America's golf capital. New road infrastructure and government support for private tourism investment will help develop this major benefit of Playa del Carmen, in addition to many other activities available in the area.

Another major project just beginning in the area is the Riviera Maya International Airport. This will be the second major international airport serving Playa del Carmen. While the Playa del Carmen villas at the north end of the city are located conveniently close to the Cancun International Airport (only 35 minutes away) the second airport will offer a larger variety of flight options as well as ongoing ease of driving access to Cancun, as the growing tourism to the south of Playa del Carmen gains a new point access.
