There are many reasons why you may consider purchasing for the new iPhone 4 in a white finish. As far as styling goes the iPhone is unrivaled in the looks department. In addition to this there are the excellent audio facilities with great playback options and use of the renowned iTunes service. Another important element of the screen found on the iPhone 4 White is its incorporation of IPS technology. IPS stands for In Plane Switching, and was developed by Hitachi in 1996. The idea behind it was to improve viewing angles on LCD screens. This is obviously important for portable devices such as this phone, and perhaps more so on units such as the iPad, where material is viewed from all manner of different angles. It is only recently that IPS has started to become more common, as initially costs were high which had a negative effect on adoption rates for the technology. The end result here is a display that offers 178 degree viewing angles, and quite why anybody would require more than this is a mystery.
