They pack easily and do not add a lot of weight to the bag that you have to lug through the airport. Another advantage is that that they are usually considerably less expensive than average tabletop models.
Make sure that you let the unit heat up or 5 to 10 min. before use. It can reach very high temperatures so make sure that you are careful when attaching the wand to the element. Within seconds the wand will fill with vapor. Be gentle with the wand-- do not raise or lower it much beyond the level of the unit itself as it could come off.
Some enthusiasts will purchase an aromatherapy accessory that allows the vaporizer to be used with essential oils to create pleasant aromas in the room. You could throw a hotbox style vaporizer in your suitcase along with some pleasant oils like Jasmine and turn your hotel room into a soothing spa and spiritual retreat.
