A doctor, irrespective of their family background, caste, religion, or specialty across all barriers, holds an enviable and respectable position in the society. Since ages this tradition has been carried over, and till date the doctors are treated in a very special manner, but now most of us have a feeling that doctor lives a luxurious happy merry life.

But to certain extent, what one sees or perceives is quite far from the hard reality, that involves in the making of a successful 'Doctor', to become a doctor it requires great deal of dedication, devotion, sacrifice and hard work, right from the competitive exams to the process of admission to various medical colleges across India, from where the basic medical graduation i.e. MBBS (Bachelor's in Medicine and Bachelor's in Surgery), to the highest levels of postdoctoral research and practice, that creates some of the best doctors that are there in India and abroad. Being a doctor isn't that easy, as people might think or perceive, by just looking at their lives.

... and practice takes all the juice out of life. They undergo rigorous grilling in the name of duty, the overwhelming number of patients attended everyday by doctor's surpass all records and standards, especially those doctors who serve in the public sector healthcare undertaking.

A doctor's is dedicated towards service of the society, and in the past doctors used to serve people under odd circumstances and living conditions bearing all the brunt, but today the modern day life style has also brought in a lot of changes in this community, a recent study in the US, states that doctors tend to avert laborious work, even avoid administering CPR under emergency conditions, the modern day doctors in sense have become couch potatoes in delivering their cent percent. A modern day Doctor enjoy numerous perks and incentives by way of gifts and services offered by various pharmaceutical companies that strike great deals in lieu of the products and services pushed and prescribed.

Except for a few dedicated service oriented men and women, this profession too has become a money making Industry where profit and loss is assessed not on the basis of lives saved or service done but purely on the basis of revenues generated and monies spent, curbing expenses and enhancing profits. Gone are days of service to the society and caring the poor, gone are days when hospitals were run by governments, missionaries of charity, non-profit trust and societies, In this era of corporate companies and multinational giants who look for profits and set targets for profits, they hire the best doctors available, and provide all what they need, they just have to give a blind eye to the exorbitant billing by means of various investigation, test's and procedures.

However, amidst allegations there are still several doctors who are service oriented, honest and caring group of people who provide assistance to the needy and poor.

Doctors from India are widely accepted worldwide and always were welcomed with great respect and honour even across the developed countries like US, UK, Australia and other European countries and the number of doctors serving in these countries are far more than any other country in the world and they shown their expertise, skills and precision where ever they have been placed.

Many such great doctors, have paid back to the society by bringing in wealth, expertise, technology and learning that would helped the newer generation to horn their knowledge and skills in enhancing healthcare in India.
